Devo Day 2: Why Should I Praise God?

Called To Praise God

“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light” – 1 Peter 2:9

King James Bible

You are God’s chosen, and He created you to praise and worship Him alone. Psalm 115:17 states, “it is not the dead who praise the Lord.” You are alive today to give glory and honor to His name. So why not!

The Lord God called you to Himself as His child. In return, you give God what pleases Him most – YOU PRAISE HIM!

God created every living being on the planet to praise (Psalm 148), so you are not the only one. He is calling the heavens, angels, sun, moon, stars of light, the earth, and all of its inhabitants to praise the Lord. God separated you from the world (darkness) into a state of joy, pleasure, and prosperity, that you should show forth the praises of the Lord by your profession of the truth and good conduct. It also helps with your lasting relationship with God. The closer you are to Him, you will have strength and power to overcome life’s situations and circumstances. I believe you have heard the truth today, and are willing to give your very best to God today. When you know the truth of God’s word, you are obedient to His every command.

Praise is to express approval in worship to your Lord and Savior. I hope you want to praise the living God and His Son, Jesus Christ, right now: for they are good, and God’s mercy and love endures forever and ever. Do you agree? Say this to yourself until it’s deep down on the inside of you, “I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise should continuously be in my mouth” (Psalm 34:1).

Shout this out loud:

“Glory Hallelujah! I will show forth His praises today and for the rest of my days.”

Will you do God’s commands, and literally be vocal or physically moving in your response to God or Jesus?

Praise is to express approval in worship to your Lord and Savior.

Praise the Lord, please share this with someone else to encourage them.
