God doesn’t disrespect us. Why are we so disrespectful? He created and loved us with the biological DNA to worship, but this drive was only to worship Him! Sin was introduced to the people of the World, and than others gods and images took His place. This is what we have in the world today, unless you learn God’s perfect will for you. The Holy Bible shares some insight with us, but the Holy Spirit will help if we ask through our prayers.
What is unacceptable worship? Disrespectful offering of worship to the one true God! You can either know or not, have the manner that displeases Him. Everybody worships. This is what God created us to do on this earth, and that is to worship Him! It is unacceptable to God for anyone to worship a non-god, because Exodus 34:14 states, “For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:” for He will not tolerate the worship of another (Isaiah 48:11b). When you reject God, you are worshipping false gods or images. Romans 1:21 states, “When they know God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful.” This is disrespectful for anybody. You cannot refuse to worship God, and we they did, as verse 24 states, He “gave them up to uncleanness”, “vile affections” (v.26), and ultimately to their judgment (v.32).
You can choose to do whatever you want, like turning to idols. However, God commands us (His Followers of Jesus Christ) to turn away from them in Leviticus 19:4, “Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am the Lord your God.” And let us not be confused with this term as images only, anything worshipped and not God, His son, Jesus Christ, or the Anointed One is called idolatry; the daily practice of falsely worshipping unacceptably towards God, as you read from the above scriptures that this displeases Him greatly. Doing so is total contempt! The World would rather worship idols, according to Romans 1:25, “Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.”
How can you worship acceptably? This is the first Old Testament commandment, “For thou shalt worship no other god (Exodus 34:14a).” Only worship God, according to John 4:24, “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” It is hard to keep with this command, if you are not following and seeking Him with all of your heart, mind, and soul. Let’s start with Genesis 4:7 which states, “If thou doest well, shall thou not be accepted? And if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.” You can see this action being fulfilled in the New Testament book of Romans.
What is God saying to us? He will not accept any old type of futile worship, even with good intentions. Throughout the Old Testament idol worship is condemned, as well as today’s New Testament. God can and will never be replaced, or reduced to an image neither! To do so is totally unacceptable worship.
We were created to worship. Yes! But, we were never to exchange the Creator God use and purpose in our lives by worshipping false gods, or if we worship the true God with the wrong motive or attitude – it’s all unacceptable and will change the course of your life forever!
