The Spiritual Nature of God and His Worship
Key Scriptures for Worship
John 4:19-23
19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.
22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
The Worship Verdict
Verse 21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.
Will You Worship (προσκυνήσετε)
Jesus Christ begins to answer the Samaritan Woman’s question, as to where to worship? In verse 20, there was a debate to this age old controversy between the Jews and the Samaritans. On Christ’s road trip from Judea to Galilee lay through Samaria.

What is worship? To show reverence and honor to someone or something. We are to worship God with respect. Praise and Worship belongs to our Lord, and it is a privilege to give to Him is due. Praise the Lord!
Woman Believe Jesus
In Deuteronomy 18:16, we are told to believe the new prophet, and the Samaritan Woman was no different. The Truth persuaded her to believe in the Messiah.

An Hour is Coming
Genuine conversation will feel like a few minutes, but in reality it has been an hour or more. The spiritual has no time like us and I are taught to believe. As Jesus Christ was telling the Samaritan Woman that an hour is coming when worship will take place. The Holy Spirit started to change her heart, and the atmosphere surrounding worship.
Worship Verdict
The verdict was in! Jesus said, “neither” shall worship on the mountain or at Jerusalem. Worship the Father. Can you believe that? What happen? The revelation is complete about the Messiah’s death, burial, and resurrection. However, He must submit to God’s perfect timing, and it is close at hand. Sacrificial offerings were only temporary. Hint, hint for the need for a permanent – once and for all – sacrifice to God.
