Do you have a desire to get to know the Heavenly Father God? The One who made and created all things. He made us in His image and likeness. Believe it or not God is at work in everyone’s life. You don’t have to believe it. There’s no requirement for you to either. The heavens and the firmament does that perfectly fine. God is there. I’m thanking Him every time I see a rainbow in the sky. He is there. I know God loves us and wants us to have a personal and intimate relationship with Him. If you are alive to read this ‘how to,’ you were created by God to worship Him. Worship is the feeling or expression of reverence and adoration towards the God of this Universe.
STEP ONE: Prayer and Praise will give you the purpose of communion with God.
The decision to obey His commands starts with you. “That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us (Acts 17:27).” Do you know what stops our prayers, our praises to God? The guilt of our sins, but God knew how we would feel. Through His Son, He made a way for us to find the true. “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins (1 John 4:10).” Believing by faith in his Son will free our minds and help our emotions in our prayers. As we walk through this life, you can praise the Lord God to give your heart to Him.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I believe in your son, Jesus Christ, and thank you for helping me to have liberty to praise your name forever. This is my desire Lord, and I will develop a personal relationship with you Lord God. Forgive me of my sins. I repent from doing things my own ways to be translated out of the darkness to the light of Your dear Son. You are my God, and I will respect and honor You in Jesus Name. Amen.
Praise: Praise the Lord, I’m excited to adore you Lord God. You are my rock and protection. You are my God, and I will forever praise you. Glory, Hallelujah! There’s no one like You.
STEP TWO: You need wisdom which only comes from God.
Lacking understanding becomes a problem in not knowing Gods’ will for you. You must ask for help in your prayers by faith. You must believe that God is there to direct you. “For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding (Proverbs 2:6).” “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever (Psalm 111:10).” The Lord God is a good Father. He looks out for His children in a daily sacrifice of praise.
The wisdom of God will help you to praise His holy name. You have to open up your mouth and began to say something good from the scriptures or your heart. “By him [Jesus] therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name (Hebrews 13:15).” As you do this daily, you will say like this scripture, “My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding (Psalm 49:3).” You will forever praise Him.
STEP THREE: Everyone can praise God, but only His children will get His attention.
In step one, you read the purpose of a reciprocal relationship. Now, you need to know that God seeks His worshipper according to John 4:23, “But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.” In getting understanding, please make sure you are His child by faith in Christ alone. This is God’s solution for a lasting relationship with Him. This is what the King James Version of the bible has to say:
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16).”
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (John 14:6).”
“For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit (1 Peter 3:18).”
“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep (1 Corinthians 15:3-6).”
“For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved (John 3:17).”
Saved from what, you might ask yourself? Your fallen nature to sin against God. Your sin will stop you from being an acceptable worshipper; one that please God. You must come to God with the truth of His Son, and then He will come in your atmosphere – when you pray, or in your praises. Try lifting your hands in submission, just like your nature Father will hug you. If you believe by faith, He will come and do the same. There is love, grace, peace, and mercy in the presence of the Lord. You will feel His presence. God is a spirit and they that worship Him must worship in spirit. This is why you need to renew (or reawaken) your spirit to the regenerated born-again spirit that connects to the living God.
STEP FOUR: Act on what you believe
In truth, you genuinely express your praise, because you believe that God exists to hear and answer your prayers. By faith, you communicate in praise. Praise is the ability to express warm approval or admiration for your Heavenly Father God. Is this still your desire? To praise Him with all of your heart, mind, and soul. Your prayers and praise will start your phone call to God. As you listen for the dial tone, wisdom will help you to connect to the right extension in Heaven. When you say hello, God himself will sense your desire and come to see about you. What a great and awesome Father God? He loves connecting to those who seek Him out. Lamentations 3:25 states, “The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.”
Simply put, by faith you look for the Lord God through praising Him daily. You must do Psalm 148 and praise Him. This is more for your benefit than His. Your body and soul will try to steer you to another path – distractions or stopping you completely from praising Him. But through this daily practice of praising God, you can do what is acceptable and pleasing in the sight of the Lord. In my opinion, it keeps you during temptations, tests, and trails. It will also keep you focus on the Lord’s ability instead of yours. God should be on your mind and in everything you do. Colossians 3:17 states, “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” You don’t have to understand everything in this life, and it doesn’t express fairness in the minds of many. However if you cling to God’s Word, you can endure to the end.
Praise the Lord, my Brother and my Sister in the Lord! You can do this by offering your sacrifice of praise.
It’s easier to say and harder to do! Right? If you want something, you have to do something for it. Fight through your emotions and praise our wonderful Lord. Practice now by typing a great praise of adoration to God in our comment area.
