Q. Why Praise the Lord?
A. Who is the Lord? The Lord is a name for the Heavenly Father God, Elohim, His Son and Savior of the World, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit of God; anyone who has authority, control, or power over others acting like a master, a chief, or a ruler. So why should I praise the Lord? We are created and commanded to worship God, according to Exodus 34:14, Matthew 4:10, and Luke 4:8. It helps with our relationship with Him. As we do so, we receive power to overcome life’s situations. ie mourning into dancing; sorrow into joy.
Psalm 150:1 “Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.”
Psalm 115:17 “The dead praise not the Lord, neither any that go down into silence.”

Isaiah 43:21 “This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.”
1 Peter 2:9 “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;”
Psalm 138:4 “All the kings of the earth shall praise thee, O Lord, when they hear the words of thy mouth.”
Revelation 17:14 “These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.”
Revelation 19:16 “And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords.”
Revelation 22:9 “Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.”
