Do you know that I’m thankful for God’s grace and mercy? For it’s by grace that we are still alive today, and by mercy that we have His help in times of need.
We pray to God for extending His love – grace and mercy- towards us, and believe by faith that He will meet our daily needs, or petitions on the behalf of others. We believe in a man who we do not see, but still believe in His promises – that’s where our faith is made sure.
In all of our prayers, we excerise our faith, but how can we not believe in the power of praise. He is the same man whom we pray too!
Do we not see that it is still respect and honor? We read John 4:23 which states, “the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him,” and do not see that this same man, Our Heavenly Father, is looking for His children just to talk to and have fellowship with!
WOW, that’s really cool! We can pray, but not praise?
Do you not see that’s really selfish, and not Godly? Relationship is very important to Him. Your praise and worship is vital in your communication with God, your Father, and that relationship is not one sided. What kind of friend does this kind of thing? You know the answer – (fill in the blank, there are many choices). Would you continue to call them your friend? No, you would not. Why? Because love is not one sided, but two-sided! It’s the same way with praise and worship. God daily loads you with His benefits, and we can only take the time each day to say, “Hi Dad, I love you”, “Thanks for……”, “I appreciate you doing this or that for me or on the behalf of someone else”, etc. It’s very simple to share things with your family and friends, but not the adoring Heavenly Father; the one who created all things, and by Him, they were created and loved.
You are created to praise and worship Him! It brings Him pleasure.
You could not repay Him for what He does, just like trying to pay your earthly parents back. It’s impossible! But you can, develop a lasting relationship with Him through your time of praise and worship – that’s what He wants from you anyway!
Let me share something that A. W. Tozer said about the Creator:
“Sometimes I go to God and say, “God, if Thou dost never answer another prayer while I live on this earth, I will still worship Thee as long as I live and in the ages to come for what Thou hast done already.” God’s already put me so far in debt that if I were to live one million millenniums I couldn’t pay Him for what He’s done for me.”
And that’s the truth of this matter!
Watch this praise song by Chris Tomlin called “Let Your Mercy Rain”:
I can’t help but to praise and worship my Father of love and mercy.
Until next time, continue to be blessed and Praise the Lord!

Take a journey in God’s grace and mercy with this 30-day devotional, in which Arethia Hornsby Rinfrow shares her poetry, inspired thoughts, and personal testimony of moving from victim to victor—all through God’s Word. Arethia did not grow up with a father’s love. All she received was hate, scorn, and ugly words. She left footprints of her life in her journals and asked her Father to speak His lifesaving words into her as she wrote, which He did: God faithfully replaced those ugly words with her true Father’s words of love. Obtain your own testimony. Read Words from My Father each day and work through the Bible study questions that encourage you to reflect on your own life and His Word. YOU, TOO, CAN EXPERIENCE A LIFE FILLED WITH HIS AWESOME LOVE AND SOAR ON THE WINGS OF HIS GRACE AND MERCY.
