Prayer and Praise

“Praise is the best auxiliary to prayer. He who most bears in mind what has been done for him by God will be most emboldened to ask for fresh gifts from above.”

– Henry Melville.

Do you believe that Henry Melville has a point?

I believe he does. If you believe in what you prayed for, then you will trust in God’s abilities, and will act according to that belief – the end result is to praise God!

Thanking God that He has everything under control!

Let’s read what Jesus said in Matthew 6:25-34:

25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow or in the years to come. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes, just by casting your cares on Him and giving Him your best praise.

If you look back a few verses in the book of Matthews, you will notice that Jesus taught on prayer (v.5-15). He was sharing with us that we need to keep that open communication going with the Heavenly Father; who sees and knows all things. He knows better than you what you need. We must trust and believe in Him!

With God all things are possible!

So, how would He know that you believe in Him? I know that answer, do you?

OK, I will share the answer with you!

You must believe that He is, and that is will hear and answer your prayer. If you believe that, then praise Him. You must express your admiration towards Him.

Your prayers will only bounce to the cell, if you don’t give thanks and praise to God. Please don’t fool yourself into thinking that you will ask Him for anything. Mr. Henry Melville’s statement is so right, so I encourage you to trust, believe, give thanks, and praise after every prayer.

Along with Prayers, Praise God through your circumstance!

Until next time, continue to be blessed and Praise the Lord!
