Who told you that faith alone is enough?
There are many people, who believe in Christ Jesus, under the wrong impression that faith just believes in things not seen. It’s not truth, Saints of God. There’s action to what you believe.
We will look in the book of Matthew for faith with actions:
There was a Leper who worshipped Jesus in Chapter 8:2-3, and received immediate cleansing from his leprosy. Let’s read it:
“And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. 3And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.”
What if the Leper did not come to seek out Jesus? Do you think that he would be made whole? I don’t think so. Just believing by faith is not good enough. There must be correspondence actions with your faith.
Look at Chapter 9:18, there was a ruler of a synagogue came to Jesus on the behalf of his daughter who just died. The ruler believed that Jesus could lay his hands on her and she would live. WOW, What faith! As you and I know that when something is dead, it’s dead! There’s no return from that state, but the ruler believed by requiring of Jesus through his worship. As Jesus went with the ruler to his house there was a woman with the issue of blood in Matthew 9:19-22:
“And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples. 20And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: 21For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.
22But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.”
She heard about Jesus and his abilities, and said within herself, “if I could touch the hem of his clothes, I will be made whole.” Her faith and actions made her well. Do you see that? But what if she just believed in him, and never went against the laws at the time? Would she be healed? I don’t think so! You must truly believe and walk this faith thing out, as she did.
Now let’s go back to the ruler, when Jesus came into the house. There was a lot of unbelief in the residence, so he put everyone out. When you are walking by faith, you too have to put some people out of your life. They will prevent you from receiving your blessing if you let them stay close to you. God only responds to faith, so unbelief has to go in the name of Jesus.
The ruler’s faith and actions got his girl’s resurrected from the dead(see verse 25). Can you believe for resurrection power like the ruler? Your faith must be developed in order for that to happen. How you ask? Give me a few minutes and I will explain that for you.
Do you remember the two blind men in the same chapter verse 27? They cried out to Jesus saying, “Son of David, have mercy on us!” Their cry of faith got them healed. Now a day, shouting in church service is too much for some people. I guess that they will never be healed, if they had to cry out for help.
What about the Woman of Canaan in Chapter 15:22-28? Let read it:
“And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. 23But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.
24But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 25Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. 26But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.
27And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table. 28Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.”
The woman’s daughter was demon-possessed and needed help from Jesus. She cried out and believed in her faith that Jesus said, “O woman, great is your faith!” Her daughter was healed, because of her persistent.
Do you see that faith alone is not enough? You must have faith and that faith much be demonstrated in some form of actions, and then worship. You can find these in all of the passages. You much be doing something, if you believe!
Here is the big question of the day: If this is truth about faith, then why do you not praise and worship God like you are command too?
Yesterday, I told you to stop making excuses for not praising the Lord as you should, and today is no different. God is calling his true acceptable worshippers out into the front line of battle (read 2 Chronicles 20:21-22). Let’s go…It’s time! Praise Him!
Hallelujah!
Until next time, continue to be blessed and Praise the Lord!
