A Desperate Praise: Testimonial

Testimony by Virtue

What is a testimony? It’s a public avowal; a recounting of your experience as proof, written or oral statement.

When you confessed Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you were to “believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:9-10).” Right!

Your heart’s confession with your mouth is your testimony of which you believe. Your testimony before men, gave Jesus permission to “confess before the angels of God” (Luke 12:8) on your behalf, “And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us (Romans 5:5).” “The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple (Psalm 19:7).”
“Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you (1 Corinthians 1:6):” “He that hath received his [Jesus] testimony hath set to his seal that God is true (John 3:33).” If any of you “shall be ashamed of me [Jesus] and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels (Mark 8:38).”
Can you speak of God’s goodness? “I will speak of thy testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed (Psalm 119:6).”
“It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true (John 8:17).” There are at least 302 times and in 259 verses that express praise to be a priority in the life of the Believer. I asked each week to send in your praise report, and I received about 1 response since March 2016. There are 87 blog members (so far). What is wrong with this picture? I know that God is good, and has blessed many. You tell me.

A public profession of faith must be told. For example, “We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak; (Corinthians 4:13).” “They overcame him [the devil and all his demons] by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony… (Revelation 12:11).” That’s a true testimonial. “For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God (Romans 14:11).”

If this is your first-time, take baby steps and each step you take will free you to praise God like never before. If you can praise everything else in your life, like people and personally achievements, you can tell others of God’s goodness.

Is that too much to ask?

What do you want people to know about God, when you leave this life for glory?

A Desperate Praise – What is Your Excuse?

Johnny Underwood’s testimony is still speaking from the grave. His love for God is still speaking to all – please listen! Johnny died in 2007 after losing his legs 2 years before to diabetes. His whole life he danced for Jesus and was known for his dancing but after losing his legs many thought his dance would be taken away from him, but it wasn’t! He loved to dance and he never stopped and his faith in God never changed! John S. Underwood II is missed, but never forgotten. Johnny is a walking miracle now in heaven!

You are alive? What is your excuse? Selah (pause and think about it).

“For the grave cannot praise you, death cannot sing your praise; those who go down to the pit cannot hope for your faithfulness.” – Isaiah 38:18 NIV

“It is not the dead who praise the LORD, those who go down to the place of silence;” – Psalm 115:17 NIV

  1. I don’t know about you, but the story of Johnny touch my heart. I have diabetes as well, and it has been life changing to me in many areas. I will say that it had me thinking about Life in a Whole New Way, especially my death. I know in Christ I’m with Him Always, but there are times with it is getting me to fear. I cried out to the Lord, and remember that I can not have FAITH and FEAR at the same time. I must choose one or the other. Through the anguish, I have learn something that give me peace and comfort, and that is, It is OK! The Scriptures says in 2 Corinthians 5:8, “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” If I trust and believe God, He is Faithful. When I leave this life, I have confident that I will be with Him. And Yes, I praise the Lord in peace as I go to heaven. Hallelujah! I have Faith knowing that I will be with Him – NO Doubts, No Fears!! Death is the only way to Heaven; at Home with the Heavenly Father. Glory to God!
