Praise the Lord by Craig Adams
Hallelujah! Did that get you jumping? He is worthy of praise!
Yesterday, you learned that worship is very important to God: taking top priority in our lives. So much so, He told Moses to set a tabernacle of worship in the book of Exodus. Learning now that your body is a living tabernacle for God to take up residence in; which worship is.
Let’s read Romans 12:1-2, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
I want you to have a little more clarity, so we will read from The Message Bible of these same two verses, “So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.”
In all of this, God wants something from you. Do you know what it is? If you have not guessed by now, He wants mature Christians who will worship Him in an acceptable manner. What is that you may ask? To worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:24)! The word acceptable is an important word of sacrifice and worship. Anyone who worships seeks to bring God that which is acceptable. Right! That is the goal: to have a level of maturity in the things of God’s Kingdom. Worship is a part of the Kingdom.
What does God want out of the Believer? He wants acceptable, mature Christians, spiritually worshipping Him from a pure heart. And it begins with the presentation of the body as a living sacrifice. That’s why you read in verse one of Romans; Paul is saying your true self, which is your life is an offering. So because of God’s great mercy to us, He calls on us to present ourselves to Him in an act of spiritual worship. Bottom-line, God saved us so that we might truly and acceptably worship Him.
You should be thanking Jesus for this right about NOW! He has made it possible through his blood.
Hallelujah!
Until next time, continue to be blessed and Praise the Lord!
