Study: Alaz, Rejoice in the Lord God

Rejoice and Be Exceedingly Glad

The Lord is Goooooood!!  Extraordinarily Good!

“Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our LORD: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” – Nehemiah 8:10

Rejoice and be glad, I said. You did not hear me, rejoice and be glad!

I like the way the Message bible expresses this verse (part b):

“…This day is holy to God. Don’t feel bad. The joy of God is your strength!

Do you believe that today?

If you do, you have 5 seconds to get your praise on, 1…2…3…4…5…

H a l l e l u j a h !

By now, you do not need me to help with your praise. Remember what you learned so far.

Do whatever God is leading you to do; do it from your heart. If you are in need of some help, you must be here for the first time.

Let’s do a quick review:

What is praise? Praise is nothing more than the outward expression of your inner faith. By faith express one of the following to your Heavenly Father, or your Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Yadah means to willfully throw your hands up to praise with power.

Todah, we lift our hands, as a sacrificial offering for future things that are unseen.

Halal means to celebrate, or act clamorously foolish in your praise.

Tehillah, we sing a new song unto the Lord – in the gift of tongues as well.

Ruwa means to give your best shout, like an alarming trumpet – Glory!

Shabach, shouting, means to address in a loud tone and glorifying the Lord

Taqa’, we clap our hands in applaud; rejoicing

Watch this youtube video and tell me the expression of the next Hebrew word in English.

Jump, Jump by J. Moss

Did you guess? If you had anyone of these answers, you were right:

Jumping in our praise

Rejoicing in the Lord

To exalt and give your best praise

Celebrate the Lord by dancing

These answers are the English version of the Hebrew word for Alaz.

Alaz means “to rejoice, to exult, to jump for joy”. Most often translated “exult” or “rejoice”.

The word can be found in the following scriptures:

Psalms 149:5

“Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.”

Psalms 96:11

“Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof.”

Psalms 68:4

“Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him.”

Psalms 28:7

“The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.”

Habakkuk 3:18

“Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.”

Zephaniah 3:14

“Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; be glad and rejoice with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem.”

After reading these scriptures, and meditating on them. The spirit of joy will be present. You can ignore Him, or just take a deep breath, and begin to laugh. Think of all the times that the Lord as delivered you – through sickness, unemployment, death of a loved one, etc. Laugh at the devil – AH, AH, AH!!! You have not defeated me, satan, and I’m a world over comer in Jesus Name. “Because greater is he that is in me, than he that is in the world (John 4:4).”  Laugh – AH, AH, Ah!!! You will begin to laugh even more. The more you think of some things, the more laughter and rejoicing will be in your heart to praise God.

Job 8:21

“Till he (God) fill thy mouth with laughing, and thy lips with rejoicing”

Psalm 37:13

“The LORD shall laugh at him (the devil, satan, the adversary): for he seeth that his day is coming.”

Psalm 126:2

“Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.”

A sense of joy should be in your heart, and now you are ready to express Alaz to the Lord. Don’t just sit there, get up!

Psalms 33:1

“Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.”

Jump, Jump!! Leap for Joy in your body, in your soul, and in your spirit!

Jump by Faith. Rejoice in Him by moving something on your body.

Exalt the Name of the Lord. He has blessed you with ALL spiritual blessings.

Halal, Hallelujah!  Glory, Glory, Glory!

Rejoice with laughter, Rejoice with Singing

Move your body, shake something, and dance

The joy you have right now is your strength. Take hold of it, possess it (Galatians 5:22)!

Be exceedingly glad in Jesus Name! Amen.

Before you leave, watch J. Moss in a live performance singing  his song called “Jump, Jump” (with sister, Kierra “Kiki”  Sheard the Celebration of Gospel on BET. Enjoy!

Don’t wait until the battle is over, jump now!
