“By him [Jesus] therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.” – Hebrews 13:15
Have you been praising the Lord continually?
Don’t answer that question too quickly. Give it some thought.
Our Heavenly Father is forever faithful to us, so why can’t we praise Him like we should? Do you still think that we are too busy? We are too busy with worrying about our problems to notice? Are we living on “Grumbling Street”, just like Don Gossett said in His book called “Praise Avenue.” If you did not get to read the first chapter of this book, click here.
How long will we take up residence on Grumbling Street? We need to STOP, MAKE a DECISION, RIGHT NOW – If God is Not who He said He is to you, continue living your life worrying about any and everything.
But…if He is Your God who is well able to deliver you out of any and all situations, then be not ashamed to admit that you were some time on that street worrying rather than praising our Creator.
You must learn to BE CONTENT!
Contentment is a decision to be happy with what you already have. Satisfaction only comes when you make that decision. It’s not in a feeling. It’s just in a word. In our case, for all the technical people, a few words – I will be content!
In your new state of gratification, you can give praise to God, your Father. Let’s Read Psalm 32:5-11 in the NIV version:
“Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD” —and you forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah
Therefore let everyone who is godly pray to you while you may be found; surely when the mighty waters rise, they will not reach him. You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you. Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you.
Many are the woes of the wicked, but the LORD’s unfailing love surrounds the man who trusts in him. Rejoice in the LORD and be glad, you righteous; sing, all you who are upright in heart!”
Can we say like David in this Psalm, forgive me Lord for not trusting in you? If I call on You, Lord, You will answer me, and deliver me when a problem comes my way, right? There is something I must do; stay connected to Your Word through Prayer, Praising, and Worshipping You Lord! Amen!
Then I will hear my song of deliverance in my Heart – a state of being content – that will satisfy my soul, and make me want to praise You, my Creator even more; continually through my day. There is something that I must do first, and that is to acknowledge you in all my ways. Your mercies will be new to me every morning. I will be glad in the Lord, and rejoice. I will shout for joy – for my victories are in You, Oh Lord!
Have you been praising the Lord continually, like you should? If you have not that’s OK, but after reading this blog for a few minutes, I suggest that you get your praise on! “Praise the LORD! For it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is pleasant, and a song of praise is fitting.” – Psalm 147:1 ESV
For those of us who are praising even in the midst of reading this article, Hallelujah!
“Shout for joy in the LORD, O you righteous! Praise befits the upright.” – Psalm 33:1 ESV
Remember that! You are the Righteous and you have a right to Praise Him continually. Do not let the devil stop you from praising, so get your Praise on Right Now!
If he (the Devil) can steal your joy, he can keep your goods. If he can steal your praise, he can keep you from being content – destroy your relationship with God, your family, etc.
Don’t Let that Happen! Hallelujah! The Lord is Awesome! Mighty is Our God! Chocolate and Whip Cream Frosting! God is that good. Amen!
